'Cross Frame Design

Verano Cyclocross Bike

The Verano Cyclocross bike was designed in the summer of 2015 and then slowly built over the following months.

After finishing the Urban Mobility Course at CCA, I continued my passion for bikes and decided to build a frame and fork on my own.

That summer I researched and read as much as possible on framebuilding, bicycle design, geometry, and fit, in order to prepare myself and learn as much as possible. I designed the bike with cyclocross geometry, but with the ability to be more capable as well. This ended up being more similar to the current categories of all-road and gravel bikes.

Although the frame geometry is that of the traditional cyclocross bike, it works as a great all-rounder and its details help contribute to that versatility.

It features:

  • Wide tire clearances, 45mm rear and up to a 2.1 inch MTB tire in the front

  • Segmented fork

  • Front and rear fender mounts

  • Front rack mount

  • 3 bottle mounts

  • Semi-horizontal dropout for geared or singlespeed use

  • Routing for front deraileur
